BIO:
Scott Johnson has felt drawn to the sea and its creatures from a
very young age. As a child, he made frequent trips to visit an Aunt
who lived in Miami Beach, FL. Sitting spellbound for hours he would
simply listen to the waves roll in and wonder what lied beneath
the water's surface.
That
curiosity eventually led to his first ocean dive. Johnson carried
with him an underwater camera, although he had no previous interest
in photography. But from that first dive a strong desire to capture
the essence of his underwater experiences quickly developed. Working
as a freelance photographer and writer, he has traveled extensively
in the Caribbean as well as explored the South Pacific and Middle
East. And he counts Cocos Island, Costa Rica among his favorite
destinations.
Johnson's
images have been recognized in international competitions and appeared
in numerous publications, including major diving magazines, as well
as in calendars and advertisements.

Intro
I
am back. Back in Bermuda for the second time this year. I was here
only a few months ago to write The Bermuda Files: The Case of the
Wrecked Ships, which appeared in the September issue of Skin Diver.
I enjoyed the adventure so much that I decided to return on my own
dime.
This trip also
holds special significance because I was re-married yesterday, so
it is both a honeymoon and a dive vacation. And yes, I had to list
the honeymoon before the diving because my new wife, Kimberly, is
looking over my shoulder.
My
plan is to dive a different wreck over the next three days while
Kimberly is pampered at our hotel, the luxurious Fairmont Southampton
Princess. Nancie Hall, the public relations director for the hotel,
is rolling out the red carpet for the trip. She has put us up in
a honeymoon suite, arranged a horse carriage ride and organized
my diving itinerary. As such, I am compelled to say "Thank
You!", "Thank You!" and again, "Thank You!"
my dear Nancie.
Right
now, I must prep my gear for tomorrow's dives and then commence
with the post wedding activities. Ouch! Kimberly just convinced
me to reconsider my priorities again. On second thought, the gear
can wait until later.
