Wyland. For more than 2 decades, Wyland has captivated the world with his land-mark murals and spectacular depictions of marine life. His latest project is the next phase of the Wyland Ocean Challenge, an art and science educational curriculum that introduces school children to the idea of protecting the creatures that live in our oceans, lakes, streams and ponds. This year Wyland will be hosting the Kona Classic Kids Art Contest. Wyland will also be providing sculpted pieces for the trophy's for the Kona Classic Photography contest winners. Wyland is a monthly Contributing Editor to Skin Diver magazine.
David Doubilet’s photography has won many prizes, including the prestigious Sara Prize and International Award given by Mondo Sommerso magazine in Italy. His most recent book Water Light Time was published in July 1999. He is presently a contract freelance photographer for the National Geographic Society where he has been working for 27 years. Doug Perrine is a professional marine wildlife photographer, naturalist and writer. He has authored six books and numerous magazine articles on marine life, and contributed photos to many more. He also owns and operates Seapics.com (formerly Innerspace Visions), a commercial stock photo library specializing in marine life.
Marty Snyderman, a longtime contributor to Skin Diver, authors our monthly photographic column entitled Ask the Pro as well as writing and shooting many feature pieces. An EMMY award winning cinematographer Marty has produced marine related films for the PBS series Nature and the Discovery Channel. Bob Talbot’s photography is world-renowned and his motion-picture imagery has appeared in many television and film productions, including Free Willy and the Academy Award-nominated Imax film, Dolphins. Most recently, Talbot directed and photographed OceanMen, a large format film about two world champion free-divers. Currently, Talbot is working on a 3-D Imax film based upon his upcoming book Ocean of Light.
James D. Watt is considered to be one of the best wildlife photographers in the world. His specialty is filming open ocean subjects with a focus on sharks and marine mammals. Jim’s work has been published in over 400 magazines and books worldwide.
Norbert Wu is a photographer who specializes in marine issues. He was awarded National Science Foundation (NSF) Artists and Writers Grants to document the underwater world of Antarctica in 1997, 1999 and 2000. He is currently working on a Pew Fellowship to document marine conservation issues for the next three years.
